Learning to listen, express, and trust yourself.
Phoenix Blu Health Arts is a Wilmslow-based practice for people who can feel that the “official story” of modern life doesn’t always match lived reality.
I help people navigate the fragmented modern world through breath, embodied practice, and a grounded — but not precious — relationship with Taoist health arts.

I came to this work through music and martial arts: years of training my ears in studios, listening into nuance, and then moving from more linear styles into the internal side of Tai Chi / Qigong — circles, spirals, and what happens when you stop forcing and start paying attention.
One practical principle runs through everything I teach: the 70% rule, or roughly two thirds — work within capacity, avoid strain, and let skill build over time rather than through brute force. We aim for “just right”, not heroic.
If you’re feeling overloaded by modern life — information, misinformation, speed, constant stimulation — you’re not imagining it. That pressure lands in the body, and the nervous system often ends up doing its best impressions of fight/flight/freeze. Qigong gives us a way to meet that directly: posture, movement, breathing and attention as a practical way back to balance.

What makes this different
- Content over form: I respond to the living person in front of me — not a rigid script.
- Goldilocks calibration: we find “too much / too little / just right” rather than pushing through.
- Breath + felt structure: what your body is actually doing is treated as real data.
- Relationship-first: we pay attention to how things relate, not just the things themselves.
- Adult play: serious about the work, not solemn about ourselves.
- Taoist roots, translated: plain language first, traditional framing second.
A quick “what it isn’t” note: this isn’t “no pain, no gain”, and it isn’t about overriding your body for the sake of a goal.

Who this tends to suit
- People who feel overloaded by the modern world and want more reality-contact.
- Sensitive / neurodivergent people (including AuDHD) who want autonomy-first teaching.
- People who want to build resilience without “wellbeing internet” vibes.
- Musicians, artists and creatives, especially if sensitivity is part of the deal.
- People in high-demand environments — corporate and caring roles — who need more capacity and better pacing.
If neurodivergence is part of your life (ADHD, autism, or just “my system takes in a lot”), you’re welcome here. The work isn’t about forcing yourself to cope better — it’s about learning your signals, your pacing, and what helps you come back into balance.
Not for: quick fixes, guru/hierarchy dynamics, or pushing through pain and overriding signals.
What it’s like to work together
I don’t promise a fake “safe space” or pretend I’m infallible. I do build a culture of autonomy:
- You can pause, stop, or change anything.
- We work with your felt yes/no.
- Feedback is welcome, including afterwards by message.
